Hello everyone!  I’ve been out for a while, so I wanted to give a personal update as to what I’ve been up to lately.  Sorry to leave you hanging, but I love lots to catch up on.

Within the last few weeks, so much has been happening so quickly and it’s been a task in itself to stay afloat.  I actually got Lasik at iQ Laser Vision in southern California and they treated me really well.  I will do a post about that, on its own because it has its own special benefits.  I’m able to live my daily life without the use of glasses and it’s a trip.  When I get into the shower I start to freak out a little because I think “damn it, I forgot to take my glasses off”.  Another cool thing, I have more room for clitoral vibes on my night stand because my glasses don’t need to be there anymore, haha.

I had been celebrating my new eyesight for close to a week when my husband found out that he was going into surgery.  He had less than a 24 hour notice and I was really worried because we weren’t prepared for this AT ALL.  We had to scramble for some last minute preparations and get as prepared as we could.  We went to the hospital and as they were about to wheel him into surgery, drugged up, etc…I had to ask the surgeon about the “upper G.i.” test that he needed.  “Oh yeah…let’s do that today, instead.  We can do this again tomorrow.”  Wow. haha.  Wow.  They ended up wheeling him to radiology and we went home that night and went in the next day for the surgery.  I have to say this:  don’t ever expect your significant other to be sweet and kind during recovery if you’ve never recovered him or her.  My husband was a huge pain in the ass and he didn’t listen to his recovery rules what-so-ever.  Holy fuck, that was beyond difficult.  After I had enough proof to show him that he was dehydrating himself, and the doctor’s office called to check up…he started to get the drift and now he’s getting on track.  But freaking-aye.  I thought it would be EASY, sweet, simple, fun.  I was wrong.  haha.  Surgery is over, his wounds are healing and he’s doing much better now, which alleviates a lot of my stress.

Sept. 8th was my birthday and it was planned around my brother’s need for Brazilian BBQ.  Usually I would get a free meal for my bday, but with new ownership, they’ve become Meat Nazis.  We had meat anyways, and hung out a little.  Then we went to the mall and my husband bought me some makeup and I was schooled by the woman at Sephora.  She’s good.  She totally knows what to put where and when.  I had to take notes.  I’ve never done that before, so it was pretty funny when she was showing me what to do.  She applied the makeup to one side of my face and she made me do it to the other side.  That was some scary sh*t.  But I did it!! 

Babeland sent me the Minna Ola, so that review is almost ready for your reading!  Exciting new technologies for your vaginas.  And I got some cool stuff from Kama Sutra Closet recently, too.  AND, horribly, yes, my delayed update on the other half of ANME Founders Show.

Thank you for your patience with me, I have missed my blog and I’ve been all over the place recently.  Today, the 10th, is my parents anniversary, my birthday dinner with them and my Lasik checkup, as well as the 1st day that I’m allowed to wear makeup post laser eye surgery.  Bye-bye astigmatism and hello Sephora, Mac, Urban Decay and Smashbox.  And Sunday, like a crazy person, I’m throwing a set of carnival games in a 10′ x 20′ canopy tent, all day long, in the heat.  C’est la vie!

Holy wow.  I had an amazing time at the ANME Show this time around, July 2011.  They went ahead and upstaged their previous shows and put on an awesome carnival for the attendees.  As usual, ANME puts on an amazing novelty show and hosts the biggest brands and companies with their latest adult products.  If you’re a buyer or seller of these products, ANME is not to be missed.  This particular show was bigger than the last few that I’ve attended and it seems that the word and reputation of the event is really spreading.

The location of the show is perfect, it’s held in Burbank, Ca and it’s inside the Marriott hotel.  I love the fact that it’s not hard to access, the parking is easy and the show is spread out through a couple ballrooms.  This time, however, they converted the exterior tent (huge), into a carnival.  First and foremost, the air conditioning was bliss.  Secondly, the layout and activities were the coolest thing ever.  You will see in the photos below – there was a slew of treats, photo booths, games, prizes, a bucking bull to ride on, rock band, arcade games, DDR, I think there were casino games of some sort, also.  I stayed toward the carnival side of the tent, where the games were.  I would have never imagined that I would be attending a carnival where you could choose dildos and vibrators as prizes.  It’s brilliant.  Consider this my plea – ANME, do it again, please!  These games were pure, perverted fun.  I was hanging out in line with a group of guys who were all excited about getting anal douches and then they each pulled one out of their prizes and cheered each other on.  It was the cutest thing ever.  Plus, they were hot.  What’s not to love about that?

Basically, you would get in line for a game, if you won, you would have your choice of any sex toy on the table.  Aside from toys, they had pillows, masks, stuffed animals, hats, shirts, body jewels, etc.  It was a brilliant idea for donating prizes to the games that would, in turn, advertise for the companies who donated.  I barely got the OhMiBod Freestyle:G, there was a group of hairy old men in front of me who cheated at the game and all 4 of them got the Freestyle, thank God she (game girl) pulled another one out of a box!  (I play fair!)  Some other prizes that I got were: a male chastity device, a gay pillow pet, penis pasta, tantus dildos, Pandy bzzz buddy, boob jewels, a dolphin butt plug, random pink dildo.  Oh, and I got the travel size “I rub my ducky – Paris”, that I gave to my mom, OG Glam.  I’m thinking of using these products to benefit my blog, and to benefit you guys at the same time.  I’ll be figuring out what to do with these things pronto!  (Don’t worry, I haven’t used any, except the penis pasta…I had my parents over for dinner and made Peene Pesto Pasta.)

Just to end this post about the ANME Carnival – I have to say that it was one of my favorite shows that I’ve been to.  The novelty exhibit was pristine, as usual.  I will be doing a re-cap on the show and new products soon.  I just needed to fit the cool photos from the carnival in their own blog entry!  Thanks again, ANME, for having me and for replacing my favorite carnival memories with new ones, with dildos.

Alright, it’s time that I catch up with technology!  I just designed my own Penis QR Code for my blog.  Check it out!  Just open your QR scanner app on your phone and aim it at the pink penis and it will take you to my site through your phone.  Pretty neat-o, huh?!

I’ve taken the time to make my own QR Code, then I hacked it by manipulating the visual code so that I could do what I want with it.  I just had to make sure to test it along the way so that I could see what worked and what didn’t work.  It’s a lot of trial and error, but they are fun to manipulate.  I had so much fun doing my own, that I am starting to do customized designs for other people and their QR Codes.  So, if you’re interested or if you know someone who would benefit from having their own custom designed QR, here is a link to where I can work with them!  Thanks for taking a quick look at my custom code!

I got note of ANE when @PapayaPam sent out a nice email, letting select bloggers and reviewers know that AVN was opening up to the media side of attendees, and not just the novelty companies. It was a really beautiful email, by the way. I ended up going and not knowing what to expect because it was my first AVN event.

The ANE show was held at the Pasadena Convention Center, which was a really nice choice. (On a side note, I had no idea that Pasadena was hiding a convention center in those little streets and blocks.) I got there just in time to attend a panel that was hosted by Reid Mihalko, which consisted of the following speakers:

The topic description:

“The internet has changed not only the way we interact socially, but how we do business. Some of the biggest names in the blogosphere will explain how to work with their kind, and what it could mean for you.”

The panel was a lot of fun, there were some laughs, lots of nods in agreement and the companies in attendance were learning from the panelists. It went exactly as planned. I actually learned about this thing called a “Klout Score”, which I’ve never heard of. It’s basically an achievement-related web page that charts or calculates your influence in social media. I do badly with sites that encourage you to login often and link all your accounts and post their info on your sites. I may not get too involved with that, lol. (I played with Foursquare, but I eventually lost interest. It’s kinda like that.) But, hey, it was something cool to learn about! I got +1 in my score, just because I logged in.

One really important thing that I am glad the panel covered : Make sure that your brand matches up with the reviewer. I cannot echo this point enough! I’ve gotten requests from some companies that are way off the map, with toys that are under par for my expectations and I feel bad, but no, I won’t review those. If a company pays attention to what the web page is about, and the image that it’s projecting, there is a much better chance for a relationship to occur. For example, I was open to reviewing for a company for the 1st time…I got the product and I had to laugh because none of the features listed on the box were in the toy! Needless to say, you guys never saw that review. One big company came to me to do reviews but they put a major cap on what could get reviewed. For example – the max toy cost was $50 (already major decline in quality) and all products from LELO, Fun Factory and a few other brands were off the table. Now…what does that leave? Haha. I think you guys are seeing my point. It was a great panel and It was cool to sit back and listen to like-minded individuals who share the same interest as myself. For a lot of the points brought up – I had previously thought that I was the only one. Now I know that what I am doing is perfect and that I’m not the only one. Major high-five to the panelists and Reid, for bringing humor and organization to the panel.

The exhibit hall was one big room, good size and it was full of different companies. They even had distributers showing their stock. I think it was a great idea for the distributers to have a booth because they were able to show retailers what kind of a selection they would find with their company. The next major group of exhibitors were newbies! Fresh products and new faces. The ANE show was a cool gathering place for new brands to bloom and get picked up by companies and distributers. I saw a couple brands that I kinda cruised by, then there was one that I decided to check out, but the company ignored me – i.e. “we aren’t passionate about our product and we don’t care who you are”.

And then there was M!NNA. Minna is a new brand who is coming out with a product by the name OLA. The guys behind this brand are as welcoming as their product. This, is what I call a full circle. They care about what they are doing and they are kind to everyone who has interest in what they are doing. OLA is going to be popular…I couldn’t even SEE the product, my 1st time at their booth. It was just a swarm of people and I had to peer through them. This new vibrator is cool because it’s silicone, waterproof, rechargeable and it has an air-compression chamber that you press, which in turn, mimics the intensity of the vibrations. It also programs your desired pattern of pleasure. Way to go M!NNA, can’t wait for the review!

Buck Angel, the self-made Man. Elayne Angel, she pierced my clitoral hood and when she introduced me to her husband, I had no idea who he was at the time.  It wasn’t until later that I connected the dots. I love this couple. They were at the ANE show, letting the masses check out Buck’s new line of toys!!! Yes. Buck has a line of toys. Buck has an exquisite line of glass dildos and plugs. The glass is sensational and it has been crafted by an artisan that Elayne had met in the body jewelry realm. The man behind the material is Jason Pfohl, of Gorilla Glass. He has really brought the Angels visions to life and created some very amazing pieces. One of the most profound, being a double-sided glass dildo with a t-bar handle for thrusting. Imagine that! Something that’s been lacking for years, and now…they’ve brought it to life. I super-hope that I have an opportunity to use that with my husband, just as Buck and Elayne probably have. (But my husband doesn’t have a vagina.) I’m very impressed with what Buck Angel has in store for us. Plus, I got to hold his vagina! (It’s actually a cast that was made into a glass installment.) But still, who’s paying attention to the technicalities?!

Speaking of glass, Spartacus has a new line of toys that were hand-designed and brought into production with accuracy that impressed the creator. This line is called “Get Blown”. I really like the full sized dildo that looks anatomically correct, but the sweet pink one with the spiral end looks like lots of fun, too. Also, for those of you who enjoy the shape of the blue one, you may recognize it as a popular vibrator that is now converted to glass for your further enjoyment. I finally got to meet Shellie, of Crystal Delights! She had an amazing setup with all of her crystals and glass pieces lined up, sparkling all over the place. I wonder what those feel like! Some of her pieces were frosted glass, spiraled colors, and even gold-infused glass, that gives it a golden glow when it hits the light. Merci Toys was showing off their set of Fairy wand vibes and I got the inside tip: The Fairy Mini Wand is the most powerful! Although, I’d much rather have it covered with swarovski crystals. I’ve been meaning to do a post on perfumes and scents, which this new product reminds me of. It’s called Good Clean Love, and they have a Love Oil, which is a lube, I believe. It will go onto each individal and leave it’s own trace scent. The guy at the booth put it on himself and it had one scent, then on myself it was totally different. Last but never-ever least, is Luz de la Riva. I had a chance to meet Savannah, who is VP of the brand and she also had a part in designing the products. Their line consists of the finest natural stones and metals that come together in a beautiful keepsake. For realz, they know what they are doing and they have artisans who put their products together and they are made by hand, so they have unique characterists and slight differences between the pieces. The craftsmanship that they give to their clients is what puts them in the highest boutiques around. Luz, the owner and Savannah, her daughter, have beautiful personalities to match their beautiful product lines, and the fact that such high sexual art carries such a sweet kinship is really refreshing. Everyone knows We-Vibe, the innovative company, brand, and couples toy that changed the role of toys during sex.  The brand is pushing beyond their already famed label and they’re trying to give us-ladies, even more to work with.  This is my take on one of their new toys, the We-Vibe Touch.  This thing seems like its basic, and yet the simple contours tell a much deeper story.

My We-Vibe Touch is in the shade of Ruby.  So pretty, I love the color.  It’s a rechargeable clitoral vibrator that is covered in silicone and it has a strategically placed button for operation.  Aside from being rechargeable, it’s waterproof, and that’s always awesome.  In terms of the actual charging cable – that’s the only problem that I have with this toy.  It may just be me, and maybe it’s just my preference and what I am used to…but this charges via a cable, that attaches to a dome, the dome magnetically clicks to the Touch vibe contact, for powering up.  The dome can come off from the cable.  Therein lays the problem.  If I charge this on a night stand and something awkward happens and the dome comes off and falls behind the furniture, it would be a pain to retrieve.  Or if the dome were to get lost at all…you’d be screwed.  Rationally speaking:  if you lose anything that belongs with any product, you’re going to be upset.  Solution, just keep track of the pieces.  My little peeve is just that there is more to the charging than *cable, *toy – communication.  Oh well!!! It’s worth it, but I just had to include that little bit because I’ve never come across a little attachment that is so crucial, and has the possibility of coming free.  You know me, just paranoid!

Now, onto the juicy stuff!  This toy was a surprise to me because I didn’t expect to see such a uniquely shaped clitoral stimulator from We-Vibe.  I don’t know why I thought that way, the man behind these creations is an engineer, and he’s obviously known to be full of surprises, and good ones, too.  I’m just thankful for his positive thinking.  The shape is pretty distinct.  At first glance, this thing reminded me of a talon, or a tongue of some sort.  I haven’t seen anything like this silhouette, but I am sure that there will be copy-cats popping up.  The tip of the vibrator comes to a soft point and it curves down into the clitoris, equipped with a little, smooth divot that can even cup the area if you’d prefer.  The opposite end has a flat side that has a circular pad-area and in the middle of that is a single button.  You click it on, then take yourself higher through the settings into more power and then into pulsation patterns.  To turn off, just hold the button down for a couple seconds.  It’s super-easy to control.  The exterior circle in the button area is where it magnetically clicks to the charging dome.  Cool!

The We-Vibe Touch is covered in a smooth silicone that is squeaky-smooth to the touch.  It’s the type that easily picks up fibers and drags on some surfaces.  I was a little worried about how that would work out, if things got slippery.  (Safe for water-based lubes.)  But when it came down to it, I noticed that the texture of the silicone aided during masturbation because it helped the fingertips gain traction and grip the vibrator really well.  This made it really easy to maneuver the vibe to where I wanted it, and I was able to hold it firmly where I wanted it best.  Double-score!  Next hurdle to overcome is how the buttons interact with the fingers during use…does a finger accidentally slip and change the mode? First of all, I am going to go over some safety precautions.  If you’ve seen any of the electro sex boxes and adhesive pads, you’re somewhat familiar with the idea.  At first glance and first approach, you may think it’s a cool idea to put a patch on each of your nipples and see how that works out.  I just want to let you know that a lot of companies have a rule about playing above the belt.  The rule is Not To.  The reason being, most of the products are meant to transfer the electricity between two regions.  (One patch has its own little hole for an electro-hookup and by that rule, they have single polarity and that means that the other patch will have the opposing current, and they will work as a team, cycling the electricity.  If you put a patch on each nipple, you are running the electricity across your heart and that’s not a great idea.  I just want to put that out there first, because it’s valuable information that people don’t usually understand, or think about when they try new things.

Now, onto the basics of electro sex.  The power box is run by a 9 volt battery.  It’s got a cute print on it; it’s not ugly and intimidating like past electro sex products that my husband and I have tried out.  The brand, She-Stim, also offers lots of cool attachments that you can use along with the kit.  The kit comes with two square pads, two thin pads, battery, box, cables, instructions and a cool neoprene pouch that Velcros and keeps everything in place.  My take on this is:  Hey, you have a starter kit to see if you like the sensations and you’re not going all out and getting crazy with attachments, not knowing if you will even like them.  That statement is sort of true and sort of not.  I found a She-Stim product that I would use with OR without electricity ANY DAY.  Holy crap, that thing is amazing.  But I will tell you about that in a bit.  Cleanup of the pieces is very simple, you can use warm water with or without a cleaner.  I would suggest that you cover the holes on the bottom with a dry finger and then wash everywhere else around them.  The purple bumpers on the accessories will come off for proper cleaning.  For the patches, eventually you may need to replace them, but try to keep them on their original paper to keep the adhesive good, or onto wax paper or some other plastic sheeting.

Let me tell you my initial opinion about electricity.  It’s scary.  I’m so paranoid about feeling “shocked” and startled…how could that be titillating?  Well, it has its ways!  The adhesive pads will just give you the pulses brought on by the electricity and the way your nerve endings react to it, is how you feel the sensations.  If you put one pad on your wrist and the other on your fingertip, the pulse finds its way between the two points and almost feels like a flicking.  That was a completely different feeling than what I anticipated.  Another huge factor in how to remain calm and open to new things – remember that you have control over how much power and electricity is coming out of that box.  If you have control of what is going on, it gives you a sense of confidence in knowing that you will only give yourself as much as you want to.  Take that a step further and there is a super-amazing fact about this power unit.  I’ve had experiences in the past, where the buttons that adjust the power, they would give a huge, unsuspecting jump in electricity release and it would startle you so much that you just wanted to stop right there.  This She-Stim power unit…it has incremental settings built into each level.  I’ve never seen anything like it!  You can turn the unit on, then click-click-click- and then you’ll finally be on the next level.  But each of those clicks has its own subtle increase in level.  It’s so amazing!  The way that I can relate this to you:  say that you have a vibrator and it has 3 levels of vibrational power.  It’s a noticeable jump in power. But if you add levels between the 3, you get a much smoother transition.  I applaud She-Stim for this because it eases the nerves (pun), instead of stressing them.  The incremental levels in power has got to be one of my favorite parts about this product.  It may be something that is easily overlooked, but after reading what I just said – you will have an appreciation for trying something new, with little fear.  (I say “little fear” because fear comes from not knowing.  You’re trying something new, so everyone will be a little tense the 1^st time…you know what I’m talking about!  )

Now that I can’t wait any longer, I have to talk about my ROCKET.  *Drool*  Holy wow.  I love-love-love this dildo.  This thing is solidly made of marine-grade aluminum and acrylic.  The electrodes are built into the actual unit, so you know that this thing isn’t going to fall apart or stop working.  This probe, in my terms, has two sides of slick, shiny, beautiful metal with a thin line of acrylic separating them.  Each metal half has its own polarity and it carries a current.  There are two holes on the bottom of this rocket.  One hole for each side.  It doesn’t matter how you attach the cables into these holes because the white wires don’t matter in terms of keeping them uniform.  (Any cable in any hole.)  The center strip of acrylic is non-conductive, so it doesn’t take any current away from the sensations and it saves the surfaces for your vaginal cavity to enjoy.  The base of the rocket has little purple bumpers.  I thought that these were just for a cool design.  But it turns out that they are so much more.  The point of having these purple bumpers is so that you can hold onto the piece without absorbing the electricity into your fingers.  Isn’t that brilliant?  The electricity in this toy remains virgin as it waits to enter you.  I tried this out on OFF position to start with because I wanted to experience the shape of the rocket.

The shape of this She-Stim Rocket is superb.  At first touch, I saw how rough the edge was on the head and all I could say to myself was – “this should be interesting…” haha.  OH and it WAS.  The head of the rocket is shaped so perfectly that it’s really…strong-edged, and yet it’s so-so-so smooth of a curve that you don’t get any bad feelings from the glide over it.  I may be an alternative-type and I really enjoy putting funky toys in my vagina that aren’t made for the simple girl who enjoys slim rockets.  So I just want to throw that out there – I love interesting feelings and very pronounced textures because the adventures trigger my g-spot and give huge orgasms.  But that may just be me!  (I know, it’s you too, but I won’t assume it!)  It’s so odd, because I wanted to go with the other She-Stim probe – the Wave dildo.  I thought that the texture would have been more interesting, but I needed to try the tip of this rocket!  I made the right decision for me.  I swear.  This tip balances out the entire dildo because it’s so amazing on its own and it doesn’t matter that the rest of the dildo is smooth.  The party is in the tip!!!  I think that She-Stim should also sell a metal dildo in the same exact shape.  I love you, Rocket!

How was my Rocket with the electricity running through my vagina?  Not nearly as you may imagine!  I was most nervous about all of sensations that I would feel internally versus externally but I had it all backwards!  I learned that there are less nerve endings, the further that you go into your body.  So if you start out with an electro-dildo and you have the electricity on low, then you plunge deeper – the sensations totally change.  They almost became warming for me.  The way that the tissues reacted was so bizarre!  I was able to enjoy this electro dildo all the way up into the red zone on the power box.  I was so astonished.  The She-Stim Rocket is my favorite product in the entire line.  I also learned that I really enjoy the internal electricity over the external electricity.  It’s just more tame and gentle, in my opinion.
